Chinese smartphone maker Huawei has finally taken the wraps off its flagship smartphone series of 2018, The company has launched four handsets as part of the Huawei Mate 20 series — Huawei Mate20, Huawei Mate20 X, Huawei Mate20 Pro, and Mate 20 RS Porsche Edition. The Mate 20 series takes on high-end flagship Android smartphones such as Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL, Samsung Galaxy S9 series. So that all the devices come powered by Huawei’s own Artificial Intelligence equipped Kirin 980 chipset — 7nm process mobile phone SoC — which is one of the key highlights of the handsets.
The chipset is claimed to be the world’s first Cortex-A76 architecture chipset, first dual NPU design and also the world’s first to support LTE Cat.21. All the devices feature a textured back design and run on Huawei’s custom UI EMUI 9.0 based on Google’s latest Android 9.0 Pie. As part of the UI, Huawei offers features such as gesture controls, app twin, private space, 3D modeling calorie calculator and more.

Specifications of Huawei Mate 20
The first and the basic handset in this series is the Huawei Mate 20. The device offers a 6.53-inch FHD+ of 2240x1080p resolution RGBW display with a waterdrop notch on the top. It offers the Leica-powered triple-camera system on the back. There is a 16-megapixel ultra wide angle sensor (f/2.2 aperture), a 12-megapixel wide sensor and (f/1.8 aperture), and an 8-megapixel sensor which is a 2X telephoto lens.
The cameras offer AI-based features such as AI Composition, AI 4D predictive focus, AI HDR and AI Cinema Mode. There is a 24-megapixel sensor on the front. Backed by a 4,200mAh battery it is available in three storage variants. Apart from offering a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, the handset offers Bone Voice ID which is basically a voice-based type of user authentication that uses AI to unlock the smartphone. It IP53 rated meaning that dust resistant and water splashes. Colour options include Emerald Green, Midnight Blue, Black, Pink Gold, and Twilight.

A slightly advanced version of the Mate 20, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro offers a 6.39-inch 2K (3120x1440p) curved OLED screen with a wider notch than the Huawei Mate 20. Unlike the Mate 20, it has an on-screen fingerprint sensor and dual stereo speakers. It is also IP68 rated meaning that it is both water and dust resistant. Backed by a 4,200mAh battery, the Mate 20 Pro offers wireless reverse charging that makes the handset a charging pad for other Qi-enabled devices. Additionally, it offers 3D Face Unlock support as well.
The camera specifications of the Mate 20 Pro include. A triple camera setup of a 40-megapixel wide angle sensor (f/1.8 aperture). A 20-megapixel ultra wide sensor and (f/2.2 aperture), and an 8-megapixel sensor which is a 3X telephoto lens. The device offers a new dual SIM design with NM card (Nano-Memory) card.

Offering a massive screen of 7.2-inch, the Huawei Mate 20 X is Huawei’s biggest handset to date. It has a FHD+ OLED display of 2240x1080p resolution with 18.7:9 aspect ratio. It also comes with Huawei M-Pen support and due to that becomes an ideal competition of the South Korean tech giant Samsung’s flagship phablet Galaxy Note 9. But unlike the Galaxy Note 9, it comes with features like cooling system comprising graphene film cooling. And a vapor chamber and GPU Turbo 2.0, the handset is completely optimized for gamers.
It backed by a 5,000mAh battery with a claimed battery backup of up to 23 hours of video playback. Like the other two handsets, it too offers a 24-megapixel front camera. And a triple rear camera setup of a 40-megapixel sensor (f/1.8 aperture). A 20-megapixel sensor which is a telephoto unit and (f/2.4 aperture), and an 8-megapixel sensor. The Huawei Mate 20 (4GB + 128GB configuration) has been priced at of EUR 799. And the 6GB + 128GB configuration variant costs EUR849. It will be available starting October 16, 2018.

Price Of Huawei Mate20 X
The Huawei Mate20 X (6GB + 128GB configuration) will cost EUR899 and will be available starting October 26, 2018. It comes also in two color options –Midnight Blue, Silver Violet.
The company has announced that the new HUAWEI Mate 20 Series, as well as HUAWEI WATCH GT, will go on sale in countries including the U.K, France, Italy, and United Arab Emirates soon.
